And we had so many amazing guests. And this guest is the last one of the series to round it off and to really help us step into this visionary in our business so that our marketing and all our business operations can align to our vision and what we actually want. And that is why I started this campaign because A lot of us start our business for a dream, right?

Whether it's to be with our family more, whether it's to travel, whether it's to create a legacy, whatever that looks like for you. And then what happens often is along the way, we get lost and stuck because there's these like shiny objects, like people saying, start TikTok, be on posting reels every day.

Like there's all these flashy, and most of it does come down to content creation and marketing, actually, as I found. And content creation becomes the most time consuming exercise in our business.  So we find ourselves feeling lost, chained to our laptop, and not actually doing the things that we want to do and why we started our business.

That's why I started this campaign, because content marketing is the most time consuming, and with proper strategy, you can help yourself build towards the vision and the business that you want. So, During this process, I have given  a podcast episodes to help you really identify strategy. I had a workshop showing the people that joined the workshop how to plan two weeks of content with strategy.

And now we round this off with our content bootcamp live. Round.  And this starts on Feb 19. And what it'll be is my content bootcamp course, which is building a content strategy, but with the on the live accountability and support that you need to build this strategy and make it happen. So what it will look like is we have six weeks.

Every second week, we have a call. And in between the calls, you execute the work. By the end, you have a strategy to be able to execute, to be able to build  the marketing that isn't going to take up all your time. So this episode is really about vision and being a visionary and not getting stuck in the small things like what hashtags to use, or.  What days should I post? Like, it is about taking inspired action so then you can focus on the vision in your business. So I have an amazing guest to come on and chat about that today.

And I'm super excited because this does really round off what has been these last 90 days with vision and, you know, obviously that is actually the first step that you should take but I understand people want to know all those how to create a reel, how to, you know, build marketing, but really what it does come down to is business.

strategy, business vision. And once you know that, everything will fall into place. So go back and think about why you started, and then let's build towards that goal. And we all get lost on the way it's happened to me before. After I got sick, I found myself working more and, you know, building, growing, scaling my business, but it hasn't, wasn't for the reason why I wanted to build it.

And I remember my, my mentor saying,  um,  How are you going to travel full time with the workload you have? And I'm like, I'm not. She's like, well, we need to work back on your plan and your vision. So, you know, it happens. We get lost. There's nothing wrong with that. I think it's part of the process, but let's get you back on track.

So Olivia Claire is our guest today. She's the CEO and executive integrator  of integrator agency. Welcome Olivia to the podcast. Thank you so much for joining me. Can you please tell everyone a little bit more about who you are and what you do? Yes. Thank you for having me. Um, I am Olivia. I run a digital marketing agency called Integrator Agency, and we help connect integrators to visionaries, um, to create more impact, to scale their business, to create more simplicity in our businesses.

Um, and yeah, all things sort of end to end marketing, funnel conceptualization, operations, marketing.  Yeah. That's probably the easiest way to, to describe who I am and what I do. I love it. Now we all have a story. I'm a big storyteller and I love hearing origin stories. So  to where you are right now, can you please tell us how, why you started your business and how you got to where you are as you  talk to me today?

Yeah, so I actually fell into business on accident. I studied really, really hard at school and I wanted to be a writer and, you know, writing is sort of a lucrative career. I suppose it's not for not for everyone. You can't always make it. So I had in my head that I was going to be. Um, a writer for a magazine, like a fashion magazine or travel magazine, because I love to travel.

And so I left school, um, did really well, got into my dream university course, which was a double degree in media and communications and English at the university of Sydney. And, uh, because I did well at school, I was able to get a part time job doing tutoring.  And so I really, you know, enjoy tutoring.

Tutoring was fun. Um, was getting a little bit bored of English in my degree and had not stopped studying for, you know, five, six years, essentially.  Um, and there was an internal role going at the tutoring company that I was working for. Um, they needed an inquiries assistant. So someone to answer emails, deal with clients, take phone calls, things like that.

And it was 15 hours. I think it was like 12 to 15 hours per week work from home. And I thought, this is perfect. I can work this around my tutoring schedule. I can work it around uni. So I applied and I got it. And it's so funny. Both my parents own businesses and,  um, I was an extremely.  I, I say organized and now I recognize it as anxious, but I'm an extremely organized child.

I had, you know, when they give you planners at school, I, I actually used my school planner much to everyone bullying me for it. And I also had a personal planner because there was just not enough room in my school planet. Tell me what a 15 year old has to personally plan. I don't know. Um, but I've always sort of been very type eight in that way.

And so being able to. Get a start in the tutoring business being, you know, helping organizing and answering emails, talking to people, dealing with clients, um, dealing with the CRM software and most excited for 18 year old me having a work phone. Um, it was all really exciting for me and something that. A lot of people probably wouldn't find glossy.

I found really glossy. I was like, I'm working from home. I use my work phone. I get on my laptop and I really enjoyed it. And I was really good at it. So  I, over a few months of working with that, um, business learned as much as I possibly could got promoted to executive. The first inquiries manager and then executive manager sort of within a year.

Um, and it was managing over 200 subcontractors and 200 active clients. And so, and I loved it. I loved every single second of it. I chose to change my degree. From media and comms,  um, with a major in English to majoring in marketing because it was more businessy and then COVID hit and we went online. I also decided to take a year off of uni to start my own business.

Um, because at that point I was, had been consuming a lot of personal development content. I was so fascinated by the digital marketing world and how things like online courses and funnels worked and I wanted to have a go at it. So I, I started an e commerce business. I started a coaching business. Um, I started.

So many different things to try and see what I liked and see what worked in this year that I took off from uni and  I ended up coming back to what I was good at and what I knew best, which was. Business management. And so I started doing consulting and marketing and operations services for  online businesses.

So managing, managing everything from managing clients to full, you know, funnel conceptualization and implementation. And then I hired a couple of mini me's to help expand the business. And now that's where I am today, continuing to do it, but from the integrator visionary lens. And I decided to, um, Change my university and change my degree.

So I'm now finishing part time a business degree at spin burn university. Um,  so yeah, I think that's it. It was a big life change over a few, a few years, but it's, it's funny. Cause I started in business on accident.  Oh my gosh. I love it. It's always like the process and this is where like, um, I have a mentor that talks about gathering all the things that, you know, so things that you learn.

all become part of where you end up in the end. And I absolutely love it. And, um, sometimes you just have to follow the path of, and just, and especially when you are younger and, you know, you sort of working it all out, I'm still in that phase of experimentation as well. So I love it. So one of the topics that We're going to talk about today is being the visionary of our business.

And specifically if your business, I'd love to hear what does that look like for you being the visionary and stepping into that role as a visionary for your business.  That's a great question. Um,  trying to think in relation to my business specifically, I come back to this a lot. And I know this is potentially a question for, for later, but I'm going to talk about it now, which is like, what can you do?

Cause everyone's probably listening to this and they're like, I want to be the visionary in my business. I want to stop doing all the things. And for me.  Being a visionary comes back to a very specific practice that I have, which is  on a Sunday or a Monday morning,  I will go to a coffee shop and I will order my favorite coffee.

It's a cappuccino and almond milk in a large big mug. I always say the biggest size you've got. And I might have my Pinterest board open and I might have a newspaper next to me and I might have an acai bowl or some sort of other breakfast that I'm excited about. And I just take 30 minutes to think. And to just like,  stop worrying about the emails that I have to send out or the client calls that I have coming up or the team meeting that I need to do.

And I just take 30 minutes to really sit back and think, am I going in the direction that I want to go? Am I doing what I love? Am I, do I feel like I'm progressing? Is this even what I want to do? And I ask myself that every single week and as often as possible, letting go of all the things. All the to dos, all the tasks that are going to pile up anyway, and just, yeah, really get clear on what I want and if there's anything that's stopping me from thinking that that's possible.

And  this is the really interesting thing about corporate world and like getting caught up in all the things is that we forget to think and we forget that we actually create our own reality and that if there's something that we don't like in our business, we have a choice. To change that, to choose a different outcome, to stop doing something, to start doing something.

And that is the visionary role. It's taking what it is that you want or what you want your business to look like and actively working towards it and being really conscious about it. And we can let business overtake us sometimes it's very easy to do that. So  that's what it really looks like for me is at least once a week.

Taking time to be quiet and be really, really intentional with what it is that I'm creating.  I love that. And I think something to highlight, it's really important to understand what you want as well. I think a lot of the times, there's so much noise online of you want to build a, you know, million dollar business or you want to have a beach.

I think someone said, like, can we just stop talking about the ideal life being a beach house? Like, why is that a thing? Like, it's not the ideal life for everyone. Um, And it's like actually understanding what you want rather than what everyone else wants that you think you want. And that's where social media can be interesting because it can often tell us what we want, even though we don't  think we want that, or we don't even know.

And I've, I've fallen into it as well. It's like, Oh, I want to do this. I want to do that. And then stepping back and be like, why did I start this? I think that's a really good question because.  It's often the answer that's complete opposite to the path you are currently taking. Um, so I love what you do.

That is so cool. I definitely want to do that. Cause I, sometimes Mondays can be a challenge to like get motivated, to just get stuck into it. So  I think it's always a really good day to reflect. So I want to go through some questions that can help people with that. Cause as you said, people want to be like, I want to be the visionary.

How do I do this? So what is a visionary? How would you define? Being a visionary for our business. What does that look like? What does it mean? Yeah. So to be a visionary is to really identify the vision, um, ironically, uh, to, which is.  It's essentially that act of deciding what you want something to look like or what it is that you want.

And then you have the implementation piece, which is where the integrator comes in. So I think sometimes it's easier to talk about being a visionary when we can also understand the other half or the yin to the yang, which is that integrator role. So, um,  Potentially a corporate way to understand that would be like the CEO, so the chief executive officer versus the COO, the chief operations officer, um, and if we imagine the CEO, it's not like they get into the office and they're like, Oh, I've got to take a client call today, or, you know, I've got to, um, I better email back Sharon because she needs a refund.

The CEO doesn't do that. Their role in the business is to oversee the vision of the company, um, in the broadest, broadest sense of the word. So how do  customers, how did, how do we want customers to interact with our brand overall? How do we want customers to view our brand overall? How do we want. Our team culture to look,  um, they are the big questions that the visionary has to ask themselves and decide on.

And it's the job of the integrator. So once the visionary is like, cool, I've got the vision. This is where we're going. This is how we're going to make an impact. They go to their integrator or their CEO, and they say, I want this to happen, make it happen. And then the integrator will take. Take the vision, reverse engineer the steps and delegate.

So  to be a visionary in your business is to really, and we, we can start on a small scale. Um, so your business now, whether even if you're the person doing all the solopreneur, you are doing visionary tasks. You are also then doing some integrated tasks, probably some admin tasks, some marketing tasks, some communications tasks, you're doing everything.

So.  I think it can be really useful to start to recognize the task that we're doing and what value they're sitting in. So, oh, I spent like 30 minutes in a visionary role today and eight hours in an admin role today. What would happen if I was able to delegate that to someone and spend eight hours of my day in that visionary role?

Um, how quickly would I see growth? How quickly would I change the trajectory of my business? Yeah. To be a visionary in your business is to really identify what it is that you want to create or communicate with the spirit of your business and see what your business wants to create and be the voice for that.

Oh, I love that. And I think it's interesting because even when we do outsource, right, we outsource the things we still find ourselves, you know, and I'm going through this process at the moment of like, What am I still doing that I shouldn't be doing  like, you know, letting go of those things can be challenging.

But as you say, imagine how much impact you'd have if you could spend, even if it was an extra half an hour a day, being more of a visionary in your business. I think that's powerful because.  And then you can decide what you need to outsource as well. Right. There's lots of people like, I need to ask, but I don't know what, and when you actually work out what the vision is, what needs to be done to create that, then you can sort of outsource that way.

But I love this concept of like putting the hats on. So like, um, how can we step into this role as like, I guess it's like, you know, our visionary, our CEO, you mentioned, you know, what you do on a Monday, what other ways can we kind of step into this role? Um, even if we're like, okay, I don't have time. But how do we make time to be more visionary?

How do we make time? That's a good question. I think even five minutes. Like, if you can start with five minutes, everyone's got five minutes. Like, you're on the toilet for five minutes. You know what I mean? Like, you can make it work. Um,  to just Think and reflect on your business. And I always come back to reflect on, is it what you want?

And exactly what you said, not, is it what your mom wants? Not, is it what Instagram is telling you you should want? Not, is it what's working? Not, is it, um, oh, well, I'm nearly at like six figures. So I should probably keep doing this until I hit that milestone. It's like, no,  what is it that you want? Because what's the point of building your own business?

If. It's just, you're just going to hate it anyway. Like you can consciously co create with your business  as you move forward. Um, and I think just taking time, if you're not doing it already, potentially a coffee shop is not your vibe. I love a coffee shop vibe, but maybe it's going for a walk and not listening to a podcast and not listening to music and just thinking and reflecting on your business.

Um,  I think.  The other exercise that is really fun is  this exercise is not fun, writing down the tasks that you're doing as you're doing them. So having a task log for two weeks and seeing if there's where you might be leaking your time, um, what percentage of your, of the tasks that you're doing are actually needle movers in your business, um, or just.

Things like, do you really need to tidy your about me page again, or could you be, you know, cold calling some people or doing some really more active needle movers for your business? Um, it's an awful task. Like, it's so boring to be there writing down. Okay. Then I answered this email and then I jumped on this call and then I did this.

But when you reflect on it, it can be really useful for you to find out where it is that you're actually spending your time, not where you think you're spending your time.  Um, another,  another thing tasks that I think this one is actually fun. And I would suggest this for you. Like if you're in this space is to look at, write your to do list for the day and ask yourself, how can I delegate every single thing?

Like every single one, what would it look like? And what you come, there might be one or two things that you're like, I absolutely can't delegate that, but it's really fun to get creative about, Oh, like.  There's this thing, do I actually need to do this and how could I pass this on to someone else? Or how can I set up a process so that I don't have to do that anymore?

Because it just, I don't know, it like unlock something in your brain where you start to make different connections and see your business in a different way. Because you're not just like, Oh, well, I have to do all these things. It's like, no, I'm choosing to do all these things. And I can create a business where.

I don't have to do any of these things. Someone else does them and I get to go play golf or go for a swim or whatever it is that you might want to do. Um,  so yeah, that's, that's a fun exercise.  I love that. I need to do that actually. Cause it's always like, no, I definitely can't outsource that because of this, this and this.

And it's like, I probably could. And it's funny cause there's those ones and I'm sure everyone listening is like, oh my God, that's me. And it's like that one, oh, it only takes me five minutes. So it's just easy for me to do it.  I caught myself out on this the other day because I had one and I was like, it's five minutes.

We'll just do it. And I was like No, no, you're outsourcing that. And now it's like so nice it's not on my to do list. Exactly. Yeah. That's a nice feeling, isn't it? Yeah. We forget. It's not just the five minute task, but when the five minute, there's, you know, five five minute tasks and they're all piled up, you're going to be like, and it's so easy when you work from home.

When you work from home, when you work from yourself to be like, Oh, I need to put a load of washing on. Like, I don't need to do this list right now. We can really easily avoid and procrastinate. And so when you have five, five minute tasks piled at the top of your to do list, you're like, Oh, I've got so much work to do.

Whereas, you know, if you get to outsource them, then Your, your task list of the things that you enjoy, the things that you're really good at, your needle movers, your 5 percent activities, um, and I'll just make a difference in how you show up in your business.  I love it. It's, it's exactly the message we all need to hear because I think it's like, come on, you know, it's, and, and I love these concepts, like understanding your vision as well and understanding what you want.

And that, I think maybe that would be a good. So if like. I'm listening to this episode. What do I do after this episode? Like, where do I get started on like being this visionary and how can I move forward from this place? Because I know we all want to be, you know, the head CEO of our business and have, and we might not have the amount of people that we would like, but what can we do to sort of put ourselves into that visionary, visionary.

Uh, roll as soon as we get off and stop listening to this episode. Yeah. So I would find, find that quiet space. So whatever that looks like for you and something that feels really good as well. So a coffee, coffee shop for me, it sounds ridiculous, but it is really like my space. It's my luxurious. I have a, a nice freshly brewed barista coffee and like a stunning breakfast.

And I usually like to go to a cafe that's very leafy and green and has that sort of a vibe. Um, for you might be taking yourself out for dinner. It might be taking yourself for a walk, but just something that feels luxurious in a way because you're really dedicating and investing this time and any money that you spend, um, in your business.

So make it nice, make it fun. And then I would. Encourage you to ask yourself,  if I could create my dream business, my dream life, whatever sort of scenario you want to go to, what would that look like? And how can I get that now?  Like, how can I actually get there now? Because say, for example, you might be  thinking, okay, I want to make a million dollars in my business this year.

And then asking yourself why is really important. So asking yourself what you want and then asking yourself why, and getting really curious and trying to go beneath the layers. So why do I want a million dollar business? Well, I want to be able to travel  Five times this year. Cool. Do you actually need a million dollars in order to travel five times in the year?

Or do you need more freedom and flexibility and, you know, all the other things that money.  Can't always, like, buy, like, my best example for this is I used to say, I want a house by the beach, which that was my thing. And so it's like, okay, well, I need a million dollars in order to buy my house by the beach.

And I asked myself, why do I want a beach house? Oh, so I can. Go and walk on the sand and go for a swim.  I can do that right now, like getting to the core of what it is that you actually want will change your life because you'll realize that you don't have to wait for anything in order to have that joy today.

You can have it right now. Um, and it's usually has nothing to do with money and everything to do with. time and space and making a choice to do things that light you up. And the funny thing is, is like with how our reticular activating system works as well, if you start doing what you want today, I go make the effort to go to the beach and go for a swim every day,  you'll meet people who are similar to you.

You'll have more opportunities around that. You'll see a beach house. That's for sale in a perfect price range or like whatever it might be. So.  You get to like, work towards. That beach house still, but you get to have the fun part now, which is going to the beach, going for a swim. So, it's the same with our business, and when we stop the narrative that our perfect business exists out there later, once we've hit this milestone or that milestone, and that our perfect business can, that fulfills our needs, our, you know, dreams.

That and our income goals that if that exists right now,  um.  We just get to have it now. And in the process of forcing yourself to think, how can I have it now? You get to answer the questions  and get into the mindset of that CEO visionary who also has that business in the future, if that makes sense.

It's sort of like collapsing the timeline, um, by making a decision that either way you get to have it and you get to have it now and using that creative brain. That's what the millionaires and the billionaires do.  They decided that they were going to have it now that they made it happen. So,  um, in summary, after this episode, my advice is quiet space, time on your own in doing something that makes you feel really good and you can reflect and  not letting your brain tell you that you can't have what you want.

In this very moment.  I love that. And I love that your like coffee shop is your place for me. I remember  when we're traveling  and when you travel to a country where everything's a lot cheaper, you know, you eat out more and you do things. We're in, we're in Morocco. We will like have this habit of going out for like a tea and like a little like dessert or a fruit plate.

Every day and my partner would have like his orange juice and sparkling water. It was like his thing. I noticed it. I'm like, this is like the dream. It's not like, you know, flying business class. It's not. It's just in the middle of the day being able to go to a cafe and just like drinking a tea and just chitty chatting.

Like, yeah, I think when we really reflect, they're the things that we want. And yes, maybe some people love business and you're a really luxurious person, but a lot of us just want. Time, as you say, freedom, that money often can't buy us anyway. And a lot of the times when we're chasing big money, we often, you know, you see all those successful billionaires, actors, actresses, singers, they don't have a lot of that time because a lot of that time is spent working as well.

Yeah. So I love that. And I think just giving yourself the space to be like, why can't I have this now? What would it look like? It's just like asking yourself the  question. And then that's where like our problem solving comes into play. Right. And that's what the CEO is about too. Like that problem solving, like, how can we do this now?

Or how can we get around it? I absolutely love that. And I guess my next question to you before we sort of start to end things is, okay, this is a marketing podcast for content. How does this role as a visionary play into our marketing and our content? So if we're, we know what we want, we're stepping into our vision.

How does this then help with our content in our marketing, in our kind of creative space? Yeah. Great question. Well, I think creating that vision, vision is so much like so intrinsically tied to branding, right? So if we don't have a clear vision of what we want our business to look like or what direction it's going in, then our marketing is going to be all over the place because we're going to try this trend or that trend, or maybe I'll write some blogs or that didn't work.

I'll try to talk instead. And you'll just be floating around a few different content avenues, trying a few different ways to market yourself because you're not clear on who you actually want to reach, where you want your business to go, what type of marketing will work best for those people. So having a clear vision  is really aligned to having a clear marketing strategy.

Vision comes first and then. You can get clear on who you want to serve and how they best consume content and how that aligns with.  How you enjoy delivering content as well. So if you've been, if you feel like, and I've totally been there flip flopping, I'm like, I don't know what I want to do. Maybe I'll try this.

Maybe I'll try that. I just want clients. I just want money and then everything will be fine.  The key is actually getting your vision tuned, um, because without that clear vision, you're not going to have that clear strategy. You're not going to attract the right clients, you're not going to have the money.

So sometimes we think like money and the external stuff is going to fix our business  and you really have to go deep and internal first and then the outward results will come reflecting from that inward clarity.  I couldn't agree with you more. I've literally gone down this path when I was like, forgot my vision, went down the scaling path and then got really lost and then took on a lot of clients and had the most money I've ever made and was like,  I'm not happy.

Yeah. Why am I not happy?  And I was like crying. Why are you crying? This is, this is what you wanted. This is what you wanted. This is what I wanted. Yeah. So you have the, the vision is very important and almost having someone to remind you of that is really powerful to like having. A mentor, a good friend, uh, you know, people in your business understanding, like a team that knows the vision.

Yeah. I've got clients before that, we could do this. We could do that. I'm like, but this is what you want. It's like, oh yeah. Yeah. So it's always nice to voice your vision too. I imagine that's something that you're really keen on doing is always telling people around you, whether it's a mentor, a coach, your team, your partner, your good friend.

So they can always say, but remember, you want this. Yeah. Ah, yeah. Okay. On the right path. And it's always nice to have someone remind you of it. Because we can get really lost in the world of  shiny things, shiny object syndrome as they call it. Yeah. Which happens a lot. And it's totally normal. I think it's, it's so fair, but having that vision is really powerful.

And I think that's the greatest message that we could ever hear today, because I think Yeah. There's so much external noise out there. And often we can go down that rabbit hole and all of us will have a story of how we went down the rabbit hole of hearing what someone told us to do. And then just like, that's the part of that's the journey.

Right. And you know, if you can get back to your vision in the end, that's all that matters. But thank you for sharing this. I think it's a really good conversation to have, especially as you know, we have a fresh year and we want to sort of get things. Organized and sorted, but often it does, we know it, we know it.
